We are Shotl

Hello. We are Shotl. Welcome to our BLOG.

Shotl is a ridesharing app that helps easing rush-hour traffic, reduce pollution and save people money, all at the same time.

It’s actually a relatively simple concept. Users with the Shotl passenger App on their smartphones are able to submit a trip request and they are given information about their specific place for pick-up. Users headed in the same direction are matched into shared taxis, vans and minibuses, offering a urban transportation service that adapts in real time to people's mobility needs.

In order to make the service more expedient, riders are picked up and dropped off on the corner of a block closest to their pickup and drop-off points, and not their exact addresses. It’s a bit like taking the bus but with a line that always fits exactly the route you’re going to.

Shotl provides the technology, knowledge and human resources to offer this flexible service, and partners with transport operators and cities to help them achieving their sustainable mobility goals with innovative solutions. Shotl can be driven by the current bus and taxi drivers, and paid with public transport tickets of the city.

Having deployed it in 3 different cities, highlighting the case of Sant Cugat (Barcelona), where the adoption of this solution multiplied by five the number of transit passengers compared to the previous bus line.

Also, we're running several pilot tests across Europe. So far they're all limited to the residents of a certain area.

So, what is our vision?

We want to help reduce the number of cars in our streets by 50% within the next 10 years and create a new dynamic transport network based on a collective ridership system that's as flexible and convenient as driving your own car.

At Shotl we are proud of our mission and we're firmly focused on creating a new mobility that's able to free our cities from cars. Because sharing is better than owning, let's build safer and healthier streets.
