At the end of September 2022, the Italian Ravenna San Pietro operation, operated by PTO Coerbus since 2020, was extended to cover neighboring towns. This expansion represents an enlargement of the current 125 km2 area with over 230 virtual van stops.
Also in Italy, not far from Ravenna, On-Demand technology is becoming available in the city of Cesena. Starting on November 14th, this service is the second operation to be launched with PTO Start Romagna. This launch follows the overwhelming success of the ShuttleMare service in the coastal city of Rimini over the previous two summers, which peaked at 4,000+ passengers/week.
The new service, called "BusSì - Trasporti su Chiamata Cesena", connects the suburban areas to the city center, reducing waiting times and promoting sustainable transport. Thanks to the two “BusSì” vehicles, citizens will be able to move from the most isolated areas to points of interest such as the hospital, the train station, or Montefiori shopping centre. The service will be active from Monday to Saturday from 9h to 12h and from 15h to 19h.

The Councilor for Sustainable Mobility, Ms. Francesca Lucchi commented: “with this initiative we will be testing On-Demand Transport in Cesena according to the needs of citizens who reside in the areas furthest from the center, where there is currently no service available, except for school transport. The service will be free of charge until after Christmas”.
