Shotl Honored at Smart City Expo Mobility Awards for Rimini ShuttleMare Project

Shotl was proud to be nominated for the prestigious Smart City Expo Mobility Award, which acknowledged our collaboration with Shuttlemare of Start Romagna in Rimini. While the award for the Human-Centered MaaS initiative from Korea took the top prize, we were thrilled to receive a special recognition for our work. It was a proud moment for us, showing that the impact of our on-demand mobility services is truly being noticed in the urban transport sector.

The Smart City Expo, held in Barcelona, brought together leaders in the mobility and smart city industries, and Shotl was excited to participate, showcasing our cutting-edge technology. Eugenio Ricci represented Shuttlemare Rimini, where the project has been running successfully, offering a flexible transportation service connecting residents and visitors to Rimini’s beaches during the summer months.

A unique feature of the expo was the collaboration between Shotl and our key partners: MOVENTIS, MAIOR, START ROMAGNA and ITOCHU. At Shotl, we believe in fostering collaboration over competition. By working closely with our partners, we are able to build stronger, more effective solutions that benefit both our clients and the communities we serve. To us, our partners are close friends, not just clients—this spirit of mutual growth is at the core of everything we do.

We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Eugenio Ricci from Start Romagna, for his trust and confidence in Shotl. His vision and leadership have been instrumental in making ShuttleMare Rimini a success, and we are grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with such a dedicated partner. Eugenio’s unwavering commitment to innovation and community-driven solutions perfectly aligns with Shotl’s mission to transform urban mobility.

The ShuttleMare service is a perfect example of this philosophy in action. Shotl provided the technology for the project, which aimed to address transportation challenges in the city of Rimini during the summer season. With the app-driven service, passengers could easily book rides to the beach, reducing the reliance on private cars and alleviating the stress of finding parking in one of Italy’s busiest tourist destinations. The project not only succeeded in providing efficient, eco-friendly transportation options, but also saw an enthusiastic response from the local community, with over 2,000 passengers using the service weekly.

In recognition of Start Romagna’s and Shotl’s contribution to this project, we received a special plaque for our participation in the Smart City Expo Mobility Awards. This is a milestone for us as we continue to redefine urban mobility and expand our footprint across cities worldwide.

This nomination and the recognition we received reaffirm our commitment to transforming public transport with flexible, user-centered solutions. We look forward to the future and to many more collaborations that help cities become smarter, greener, and more connected.
