01What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device, so that it can remember something from one page or visit to the next. Cookies set by the website you are visiting are first-party cookies; cookies set by another domain, for example by an embedded video, are third-party cookies.
02Cookies for features you ask for
These cookies are set only when you use the feature that needs them, and are used only for it. Because they are strictly necessary to provide a service you have explicitly requested, they do not require your consent (Article 22.2 of Spain's Law 34/2002 on information society services and electronic commerce, LSSI).
shotl_guides is set when you fill in the download form for our Mobility guides. For 30 days it lets this browser download the guides again, or other guides, without filling in the form a second time. It records only that the form was filled in and until when; it contains no personal data.
| Host | Cookies | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| shotl.com | shotl_guides | First party | 30 days |
03Cookies for our editors
Members of our team who preview unpublished content before it goes live receive a cookie that turns on preview mode in their browser. It is set only through our content management system, never for other visitors, and ends when the browser is closed.
| Host | Cookies | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| shotl.com | __prerender_bypass | First party | Session |
04Embedded videos
Some pages show videos hosted on YouTube. Nothing is loaded from YouTube until you press play: until then you see a still image served by us. When you press play, the video loads from youtube-nocookie.com, YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, and YouTube may then set its own cookies or store data in your browser, as described in Google's Privacy Policy.
| Host | Cookies | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| youtube-nocookie.com, youtube.com | Set by YouTube when you play a video | Third party | As set out in Google's Privacy Policy |
05Visit statistics, without cookies
We count visits with Umami, an open-source statistics tool that runs on our own servers; nothing is shared with a third party. It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser.
It records the page visited, the site you came from, your browser, type of device, language and country, and the use of our forms and downloads — for example that a contact form was sent or a guide downloaded, never what you wrote. Your IP address is used only to work out the country and an anonymous visitor count that changes every day, and is not stored. Nothing it records identifies you, and browsers that send Do Not Track are not counted. Because no cookies or browser storage are involved, it does not require your consent.
06What we do not use
We do not use analytics, advertising or social media tracking cookies, tracking pixels, or any technology that builds a profile of your interests or follows you across other websites. The map on our simulation page and the links to other services, such as our booking page on cal.com, set no cookies on this website.
If we add any such technology in future, we will update this policy first and ask for your consent before it is used.
07Information your browser sends
Like any website, our servers receive the information your browser sends with every request, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested. We use it to deliver the page, to protect our forms against abuse — an address is kept in memory for up to one hour to limit repeated submissions — and in the technical logs we keep to run the service. We do not use it to identify or profile visitors.
08Managing cookies
You can view, delete and block cookies in your browser's settings. If you block the cookies listed above, the features that use them will not work as described: for example, you would be asked to fill in the guides form again.
09Further information
We process personal information in accordance with this policy and our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle what you send us through our forms.
If you have any questions, write to privacy@shotl.com.
If you are unsatisfied with how we have handled your information, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the relevant supervisory authority; in Spain, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (aepd.es).
