About Shotl

Cities work better when people share their journeys

Shotl was founded in Barcelona, in 2017 on that one conviction. Since then our platform has connected passengers, transport operators and public authorities in towns, cities, campuses and valleys across Europe, Asia and Africa.

What we believe

Public transport should follow people, not the other way round

Most places cannot justify a frequent fixed line — and most people cannot organise their lives around an hourly one. That gap is where car dependency grows, and where we work.

Our platform lets a bus, a minibus or a shared taxi behave like public transport that responds: passengers ask, an algorithm pools compatible journeys, and vehicles drive only where someone actually wants to go. Operators keep their fleets and their drivers; authorities keep their data and their service rules; passengers get a ride they can rely on.

We are deliberately not a ride-hailing company. We work with the public sector and its operators — never around them — because the goal is not to replace public transport but to extend it to the places and hours it never reached.

How we hold ourselves to that is written down: a code of ethics, an environmental policy, and commitments on data and people that travel with every deployment. Read them.
