FAQ

The questions we hear most

How can riders pay?

By debit or credit card in the app, or on board if you switch that option on. Riders see the total cost before they confirm the trip.

Who receives the money?

You do. Payments go into your own Stripe account. Shotl only provides the integration and never receives or manages the income.

When is the rider charged?

For a ride now, when the rider confirms it. For a scheduled ride, about 10 minutes before the expected pickup — so it can be cancelled at no cost until then.

How do refunds and receipts work?

Both are set in your Stripe account: your own refund policy, and either a standard receipt emailed to the rider or your own customised invoice.

Which fares can we set?

One price per fare type — for example regular, child, student, PMR, senior or retired — in euros, US dollars or pounds sterling.

Can a service be free?

Yes. Payments are optional: when they are off, the apps show no payment step and every booking is free. They can be switched on from the dashboard at any time.
